The 2027 SUN ‘n FUN poster captures the spirit of an event where aviation meets music, entertainment, and adventure—creating an experience unlike anything else in the world.
Inspired by the electrifying atmosphere that defines SUN ‘n FUN, the artwork captures the vibrant energy of a modern festival experience—re-imagined through the lens of aviation. Between spectacular flying performances, live music, unforgettable nighttime entertainment, and thousands of aviation enthusiasts from around the globe, SUN ‘n FUN has become much more than an airshow. It’s a week-long celebration where aviation, entertainment, community, and adventure come together.
With the 2027 theme, A World to SEA at 53, the design features bold colors, neon accents, glowing lights, and a contemporary festival-inspired aesthetic that reflects the excitement and energy experienced throughout the event while celebrating aviation’s ability to connect the world.
At the heart of the artwork is a tribute to the 100th anniversary of Charles Lindbergh’s historic Spirit of St. Louis flight across the Atlantic. That pioneering journey forever changed aviation by connecting continents in a way never before imagined, making it the perfect centerpiece for this year’s international theme.
The celebration won’t be limited to the poster. Visitors to SUN ‘n FUN 2027 will have the rare opportunity to see one of the world’s only flying replicas of the Spirit of St. Louis, bringing this remarkable chapter of aviation history to life. A glowing flight path stretching from New York to Paris traces Lindbergh’s historic route behind the aircraft, while the instrument panel in the background pays tribute to the remarkable navigation required during a flight completed without a forward windshield.
The globe serves as the visual centerpiece, symbolizing aviation’s power to bring together people, countries, and cultures. It also represents how Lakeland, Florida, becomes a destination for aviation enthusiasts from around the world each spring.
Hidden throughout the artwork are numerous Easter eggs waiting to be discovered. Kyle Fowler appears flying over his home country of Canada, while the silhouettes of the crowd below mirror the stars above, symbolizing the connection between the people who attend SUN ‘n FUN and the pilots who inspire them. The vibrant Van’s Aircraft homebuilt, built and flown by Dwight Mattmuller, inspired much of the poster’s bold color palette, and its distinctive honeycomb pattern is subtly woven throughout the design.
The poster also showcases many of the aircraft and performers that helped make this year’s event so memorable. The Blue Angels soar above the globe, while Roger Olsen’s Cessna 185 seaplane returns as a tribute to one of aviation’s most iconic bush aircraft and will also be on display at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. Paramotor pilots bring their signature excitement, colorful hot air balloons add a sense of adventure, and Douglas Fulton’s striking zebra-painted PZL-Mielec An-2 returns after becoming one of the most photographed and recognizable aircraft at this year’s event. Aaron Fitzgerald’s Red Bull helicopter adds another exciting element to the international celebration, reflecting the dynamic performances that continue to captivate audiences.
The collection of international flags surrounding the globe represents the top 10 countries and celebrates the many cultures that come together at SUN ‘n FUN each year. Every aircraft, color, texture, and design element was intentionally chosen to celebrate the history, innovation, friendships, and unforgettable experiences that define the event.
Just like the poster itself, SUN ‘n FUN 2027 promises something new around every corner. Guests can look forward to expanded live music, more entertainment, spectacular aerial performances, thrilling stunts, and even more nighttime excitement, creating an experience that extends well beyond the flying demonstrations. From sunrise to the final lights of the evening, the event is designed to immerse visitors in the sights, sounds, and excitement of aviation like never before.
Aviation enthusiasts will get their first opportunity to own the official 2027 SUN ‘n FUN poster during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, where it will make its debut and help kick off a brand-new aviation season. Whether you’re attending AirVenture or planning your trip to Lakeland next spring, the poster offers a first look at the excitement awaiting at A World to SEA at 53.
The poster was conceptualized and designed by SUN ‘n FUN Marketing Director and Designer Melissa Goodson, with photographic contributions from several members of the SUN ‘n FUN Volunteer Photography Team. Their incredible imagery helped capture the spirit, beauty, and excitement of the event, making this year’s poster a true collaboration celebrating the people, aircraft, and unforgettable moments that make SUN ‘n FUN so special.
As with every SUN ‘n FUN poster, there’s more to discover than what first meets the eye. Take a closer look—you may spot a hidden tribute, a meaningful detail, or a favorite aircraft you didn’t notice the first time. Every element helps tell the story of an event that continues to bring the aviation community together from every corner of the world.
Welcome to A World to SEA at 53—where the world of aviation comes together to celebrate history, innovation, music, entertainment, and the adventure of flight. Join us for an unforgettable week where the skies come alive, friendships are made, and the spirit of aviation knows no boundaries.
