Seaplanes give pilots the freedom to access places conventional land-based aircraft can’t always reach. 

From aircraft equipped with floats to amphibious designs capable of operating from both land and water, these airplanes combine aviation with a whole different kind of adventure. 

Take a closer look at the different designs, equipment and capabilities that make seaplane flying unique. 

Explore the Aircraft 

Walk among a variety of Seaplanes and discover how different aircraft are designed for life on the water. 

Look closely at floats, hulls and amphibious landing gear, and see how familiar aircraft designs can be adapted for an entirely different operating environment. 

And don’t be afraid to ask questions—the people behind the aircraft are often the best part of exploring SUN ’n FUN.

Aircraft Judging

Some of the Seaplanes you’ll see throughout the week may also compete in SUN ’n FUN Aircraft Judging, recognizing exceptional aircraft, craftsmanship and presentation.

Dedicated Seaplane Aircraft Parking and Camping are available for participating pilots.
