Camp With Your Aircraft at SUN ’n FUN 

There’s no better way to experience SUN ’n FUN than waking up just steps from your aircraft. 

Aircraft camping puts you in the heart of the aviation community, with designated camping areas available for a variety of aircraft types throughout the Expo. 

Aircraft camping allows you to set up a tent or appropriate camping shelter within the footprint of your aircraft in a designated aircraft-camping area.


Aircraft Camping Areas 

General Aircraft Camping 

General Aircraft Camping is available for pilots who want to camp with their aircraft and are not parking within one of SUN ’n FUN’s designated specialty aircraft areas. 

Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis

Specialty Aircraft Camping 

Aircraft camping is also available within designated areas for: 

Some specialty aircraft areas have specific eligibility, registration or arrival requirements. Review the appropriate Pilot Information page before you fly. 


2027 Aircraft Camping Rates 

Daily Aircraft Camping: $37 per night, plus applicable taxes 

Weekly Aircraft Camping: $148, plus applicable taxes 

One aircraft-camping permit is required per aircraft. 

Your aircraft must be present to secure an aircraft-camping space, and your camping permit must be purchased before setting up your campsite. 

Expo Admission Is Separate 

All aircraft campers and their guests must have valid Expo admission for the days they attend.

Arriving Before the Expo? 

Early Arrival Aircraft Camping opens at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 3, 2027

Pilots arriving early may set up camp and enjoy the aviation community as SUN ’n FUN prepares for opening day. 

If you leave your aircraft unattended during the early-arrival period, leave the aircraft uncovered with the brake unset, as SUN ’n FUN personnel may need to reposition aircraft as additional arrivals are accommodated. 

Always follow instructions from SUN ’n FUN ground and camping personnel.


Before You Arrive 

Know where you plan to camp before beginning your flight and prepare the appropriate aircraft-camping parking sign identified in the current NOTAM.

Aircraft Camping Rules

A few important rules help keep SUN ’n FUN’s aircraft-camping areas safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Camping Permits 

Your aircraft must be present to secure an aircraft-camping space. 

One camping permit is required per aircraft. Once registered, display your aircraft-camping permit as directed so it remains visible to Camping Permit Enforcement personnel. 

Secure Your Aircraft

All aircraft in aircraft-camping areas must be securely tied down. 
Pilots may bring their own tie-down equipment or purchase tie-downs onsite.

Aircraft Have the Right-of-Way 

Aircraft-camping areas remain active aviation environments. 

Stay alert for moving aircraft at all times. Taxiing aircraft have the right-of-way, and all guests should follow instructions from SUN ’n FUN ground personnel. 

Airshow Operations 

Aircraft movement is prohibited within aircraft-camping areas during airshow operations when the red flag is displayed

Review the current NOTAM and Daily Schedule when planning aircraft movement, arrivals and departures. 

Cooking Near Aircraft 

White gas and propane cooking equipment may be used when attended and positioned at least 10 feet from aircraft

Cooking stoves are prohibited within 50 feet of aircraft fueling operations

Quiet Hours 

Aircraft-camping quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM
