Have Your Aircraft Judged at SUN ’n FUN 

Flying an eligible aircraft to SUN ’n FUN? Aircraft owners can register their aircraft for judging and compete for recognition within their aircraft category. 

Aircraft Judging takes place Tuesday through Friday, with winners recognized during the Aircraft Judging Awards Ceremony on Saturday. 

Bringing a Warbird Helicopter? 

ircraft Judging registration is completed after you arrive at SUN ’n FUN. 

When completing your aircraft registration, let the registration team know that you would like to have your aircraft judged. They will provide the information you need to participate. 

Aircraft Judging registration must be completed by noon Friday.

Aircraft Judging Categories 

Judging is conducted in the following aircraft categories: 

  • Homebuilt 
  • Light Plane 
  • Seaplane 
  • Rotorcraft 
  • Ultralight 
  • Warbird 
  • Vintage 

Vintage Classifications 

Vintage aircraft are judged within three classifications: 

Antique 
Aircraft constructed on or before August 31, 1945. 

Classic 
Aircraft constructed September 1, 1945 through December 31, 1955. 

Contemporary 
Aircraft constructed January 1, 1956 through December 31, 1970. 

Aircraft Judging Awards Ceremony 

Aircraft Judging winners are recognized during the Aircraft Judging Awards Ceremony on Saturday.
