Helicopters and other rotorcraft are built to go places—and perform missions—that aren’t always possible with traditional airplanes. 

Their unique capabilities allow them to hover, operate in confined areas and take off and land without a traditional runway.

Explore the Aircraft 

Walk among the helicopters and rotorcraft that fly into SUN ’n FUN and see them from a perspective you don’t often get on the ground. 

From the rotor systems overhead to the cockpits and equipment inside, each aircraft offers a closer look at the engineering behind rotary-wing flight. 

Participating aircraft vary from year to year, making every visit to Choppertown a little different.

Aircraft Judging 

Some of the rotorcraft you’ll see in Choppertown may also participate in SUN ’n FUN Aircraft Judging, recognizing exceptional aircraft, craftsmanship and presentation.

Explore The Island 

Located near Choppertown, The Island offers food, refreshments, entertainment and presentations throughout the day and into the evening. 

It’s an easy place to take a break while exploring the aircraft areas on this side of the Expo Campus.
