WHAT:
SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo and The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation will announce details of their 2023 partnership.
The partnership includes SUN ‘n FUN hosting an all-new area called The Island, presented by The Island of Bahamas. Surrounded by Seaplanes, The Island is complete with a cafe, entertainment, restrooms, showers, a storefront for personal and aircraft camping needs, grocery delivery, an Uber terminal, a new tram system hub, and more. The Island serves as a social hub where flyers will find the Pilot Welcome Center, a stage for forums and movies, and a gathering area to reconnect with old friends and make new ones while sharing aviation stories.
In addition, SUN ‘n FUN has partnered with The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation to help pilots fly to The Bahamas from April 2-5. It is an effortless experience, well within the capabilities of most certified, experimental, and even light-sport single-engine aircraft. Fifty miles off the eastern coast of Florida, lies the legendary Bimini and Berry Islands or a northern venture out, 60 miles away, takes you to pristine Grand Bahama, home to the Bahamas’ ecological wonders. More than 63 airports on over 12 distinctive islands can be found in most GPS’ databases, and overlapping VOR/DME and NDB symbols provide course guidance from the US coast and throughout the most frequently traveled routes in The Bahamas.
